The artwork of Shawn Hull has been on display since July 1st and will be on display through the end of August.  You can meet the artist herself on Tuesday, July 11th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Stop by the library and talk with Shawn about her philosophy as and artist and how it influences and directs her work. Shawn says her art practice centers around the exploration of how nature and people impact one another and the rituals and relationships between people and nature.

Prior to working in clay and fine arts, Shawn worked in theater as a director, actress, and educator. She holds a MFA in Dramatic Art from UC Davis. Shawn is a self-taught ceramicist and visual artist living right here in Lansing.

In this current show, “Natural Habitat”, one may be able to glimpse how Shawn’s varied life experiences and interests blend together and are then expressed through various media – sculpture, painting, and poetry.

Shawn also works with fiber and paint.

Light refreshments will be served.
