Surrealist & Cozy Food Landscape Painting Workshop with Annie Sheng

Surrealist & Cozy Food Landscape Painting Workshop with Annie Sheng

Explore our inner worlds of places of solace and foods of comfort with local artist and anthropologist Annie Sheng!

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn about surrealist art, the meaning we attach to food, and the concept of “terroir” — the taste of the land. Reflect on your own favorite places and comfort foods, then design a surreal food landscape using pencil and bring it to life with watercolor.

The workshop will also include a viewing of Annie’s new food landscape paintings and installations, inspired by interviews with residents of Tompkins County. Everyone will have the opportunity to create their own food-inspired artwork!
